This past week, two local Ashlanders noticed that Ashland Creek had more water in it than usual. They decided to throw a raft on top of their truck and drive upstream to see about running a short stretch of the creek.
As they launched, someone happened to be walking up the trail and, seeing the raft, he began taking photos. He emailed them to the rafters later that evening. It’s the only time we’ve ever seen a raft in the creek, and probably was the first time it’s been rafted. Here are the photos, courtesy of Jack Stull (thanks Jack!):
