A hub of the Ashland community is the Ashland Food Cooperative. It’s a perfect place to grab a sandwich after a morning rafting trip on the Rogue, as it’s located just around the corner from the Indigo Creek Outfitters River Center. There is a full deli with delicious gourmet food, and the store is unlike any you’ve been in before. The produce section is incredible, and there is a good selection of local wines and cheeses. They also provide a unique selection of high quality and organic gourmet specialty foods, and wines and beers sourced from around the corner to around the world. Ashland Food Cooperative is Southern Oregon’s first and only Certified Organic Retailer, and they actively support the local economy and the area’s growers and producers. The Co-op has a long history of bringing healthy, organic food to the community. The co-op started as a buying club in 1971, and has grown into a well-respected, deeply loved full-service cooperative grocery with nearly 6,000 owners.
Their Community Oven culinary and wellness program provides cooking classes, in-store culinary demonstrations, and wellness lectures. Community Oven also includes a free Pantry Basics class for owners to introduce them to simple menu planning and basic cooking using whole, organic foods.
