Ashland, Oregon’s, Lithia Park is a beautiful place for a walk in downtown Ashland. The park runs along Ashland Creek, which originates from Mount Ashland. The entire park is a little more than a mile long, and the main trail leads to a reservoir that is a popular swimming hole in the summer. Various trails stem off from the main trail, and a full day of hiking opportunities does exist if you are willing to explore up into the hills.
Lithia Park starts in Ashland’s downtown plaza area. It is within easy walking distance of many of Ashland’s restaurants, hotels, and bed and breakfasts. One nice way of seeing the park is to walk up to the reservoir and leave the main trail by taking a dirt road to the left. This road loops back into downtown and offers views looking down into the park.
