Ashland, Oregon: Ashland Springs and Lithia Springs Tie the Knot

Ashland Springs Hotel has a sister property: Lithia Springs Resort

Doug and Becky Neuman, the owners of the historic landmark Ashland Springs Hotel have recently purchased the Lithia Springs Inn located in Ashland, OR. The new owners changed its name to the Lithia Springs Resort and started a major renovation of the cottages, as well as the main building. Changes also include a brand new marketing concept including logo, website, and all the collateral.

Lithia Springs Resort is located in the quiet countryside, just 3 minutes from Ashland’s downtown. The resort located in the valley between Cascade and Siskiyou mountains features healing, mineral warm springs (94°F) piped into private soaking tubs located in all 28 cottages.

Ashland was known as the “Carlsbad or Baden-Baden of America” in the early 1900s and we are planning to resurrect those “Taking to the Waters” simpler times, but with a fresh wand over the experience and aesthetics. As found in the collections of the Southern Oregon Historical Society, this part of Oregon has been famous for lithia, sulfur and soda springs for centuries. With the purchase of the Lithia Springs Resort we are proud to offer these healing sulfur springs to travelers looking for a unique Oregon experience, a spa-like retreat, celebrating healing waters and nature.

The design of the cottages is modern naturalist, that’s whimsical and playfully chic.

In the interior design of the resort we are giving it a hip factor. Modern accents of browns, white, aqua, silver and sapphire, combining different textures, such as natural wood, silver, minerals, glass faux fur, and earthy eco-lux textiles will be used in the décor of each guest space. Art will be dreamy, enlarged photos of water elements in silver frames. (rocks underwater, water reflections, etc.) One highlight of the lobby will be a display/curiosity cabinet showcasing the healing powers of water, natural wonders, photos of water crystals, chunks of rock quartz, chalky zeolite and milky glass balls, references to back-in-time mineral springs “cures” (vintage element) from original sources and various “sunbeams of health and wellness” verbiage and quotes.

The resort grounds include beautiful flower gardens, arbors, koi ponds, and secret hideaways. Lithia Springs Resort is an oasis of tranquility and beauty with its quaking aspens, fruit trees, grapes, and colorful rose and berry bushes, all cultivated organically from their early beginnings. The new owners are planning to turn it into a popular outdoor venue, perfect for any outdoor event, including weddings.

Whether you have come to relax and wile away the afternoon snoozing under the arbors or to explore all Southern Oregon has to offer in live theater, wineries, gourmet food and handcrafted chocolates, river rafting, and fishing, Lithia Springs Resort is the place to stay to make your Southern Oregon experience delightful and unforgettable.

We are looking to create a romantic hideaway, a private sanctuary, which is playfully chic and surprises with a soft-spoken luxury.

Soak in the privacy of your own cottage, stroll in the gardens listening to the birdsong, and enjoy a cup of tea with fresh scones and organic local honey in the afternoon.

Ashland, Oregon: The Stratford Inn

The Stratford Inn, located at 555 Siskiyou Boulevard near downtown Ashland, is a nice hotel frequented by Oregon Shakespeare Festival tourists. The Stratford has a huge array of rooms available, but our personal favorites are the rooms with the small kitchens in them. They are roomy, comfortable, and nicely decorated.

The hotel has an indoor pool, an indoor jacuzzi, a sun room, and a small cafe all located on the southern side of the building. From the hotel, it is only a five to ten minute walk to the theaters, a 15 minute walk to Southern Oregon University, and a 10 minute walk to Indigo Creek Outfitters‘ River Center.

Across the street from the hotel is Safeway, which is quite convenient especially if your room has a kitchen in it. Contact the Stratford Inn to make reservations before arriving in Ashland. It can fill up on popular days, particularly in the summer months. Their phone number is (541) 488-2151 and you can also visit them online at
