Ashland’s newest neighborhood brewery and taphouse, Swing Tree Brewing Company, is set to open by May of 2013. Swing Tree will be opening with a modest taproom where they will serve 2 house brands (The Porch Swing Pale and a rotating tap), and a unique selection of other Rogue Valley beers. They will also serve fresh pizzas made by local bakery, Ichigo Cakes. While Swing Tree has definite plans to grow their operation, they believe that opening with a small taphouse will provide them with an opportunity to focus on getting to know their customers before being bogged down with the increased responsibilities of a bigger brewhouse. It will also give them an opportunity to get input from the community and grow the brewery into something Ashland can be proud of.
Swing tree plans on putting every dollar they make during this initial stage right back into the brewery while they work up to a larger taphouse, a full selection of Swing Tree brands, and keg and can distribution. Until then, if you want to enjoy a Swing Tree brew, you’ll just have to make your way to the taphouse, hunker down on a bar stool, and drink a beer with them face-to-face.
If you want to get a sneak peak into what Swing Tree will have to offer, join them at Paddy Brannan’s Irish Pub in Ashland on April 7th at 8:00pm for a Pre-Opening Party. They will be serving free tastes of their pilot batches, and will be available to talk about their plans for Swing Tree.
