Zwickelmania, the annual one-day event in Oregon when breweries open their doors to both casual and hardcore beer fans, lands on Feb. 14 this year — Valentine’s Day — from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. More than 100 breweries, big and small, are participating with meet-the-brewer events, tours and beer samples.

For those who are planning a special Valentine’s Day trip in Oregon, visitors are invited to click on one of the seven regions of the state on the Zwickelmania event page to see which breweries are participating. Itineraries and maps are available for the Bend, Eugene, Portland, Salem and Southern Oregon areas.

Standing Stone Brewing Company in Ashland will host brewery tours and free samples for the annual event, 11-4pm. Brewmaster Larry Chase will show guests around the brew deck, serve samples of beer from the brewing tanks, and offer pairings of cheese and chocolate to celebrate the dual holiday.

Last year, more than 36,750 people toured 105 participating breweries statewide, and the Oregon Brewers Guild is expecting that number to increase in 2015 with Valentine’s Day starting off what will be a three-day Presidents’ Day weekend.

For more information, head to Oregoncraftbeer.org/zwickelmania, or the Oregon Brewers Guild Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter pages using the hashtag #Zwickel15. No reservations are required to participate; just show up and join breweries around the state in celebrating Oregon craft beer.
